Jan Wiridén
Jan Wiridén, press photographer, born in 1953 in Jönköping. Having always been interested in photography, he applied for a job at Expressen straight after finishing school in 1970. At the time, the newspaper was printed and distributed throughout southern Sweden from Jönköping.
He started working as a caretaker at the editorial office. Before long, his passion for photography led him to take on more and more photographic assignments for the newspaper.
He later took leave from the paper and worked four seasons as a summer substitute at GP and GT in Gothenburg.
In 1986, he was offered a permanent position as a photographer at GT, where he became one of twelve staff photographers.
In 1998, Expressen acquired GT, and he remained employed there until 2016. When he left, only two photographers were still on staff, and today there are none.
Throughout his career as a press photographer, he has had the opportunity to meet many different people in places around the world and has built up an impressive collection of photographs, which we are very pleased to present.
