Albert Watson
Albert Watson (b.1943) in Edinburgh is today considered one of the world’s foremost fashion/advertising photographers with several major assignments e.g. Levi´s, Chanel and Revlon. He has photographed more than 650 advertising campaigns and 100 Vogue covers and is ranked as one of the 20 most influential photographers of all time. He also works as an art photographer and has images represented in galleries and museums around the world.
His career took off in earnest in the early ’70s after he moved to the United States and there opened two photo studios, one in New York and one in Los Angeles. Albert Watson has published several photo books that have been a great success, especially the book Cyclops, whose title alludes to the fact that Watson has been blind in one eye since birth, which has won the most awards.
