Chris Engelus

Chris Engelus’ grandfather was the photographer Bertil Höder, known as Europe’s first press photographer. He came to spend much of his upbringing in Grandpa’s darkroom with a single rule of thumb, “Do NOT open the door!”

When one day he inherited one of his Grandfather’s Nikon cameras, he became stuck and photography remained a large part of his life. He works with Fine Art Photography, often with animals, nature and the sea as motifs. The images are often characterized by mysticism and the philosophical.

“A photo should be an experience that either makes us wake up to an important issue or the image should make us find harmony and happiness”
